I was introduced to the story of Jose “Kike” Belavar by Ana Oliva, owner of Pikkolo Mondo. Kike is an 8-year old shooting victim from Puerto Rico, who has been moved to South Miami to save his life. He still has a bullet lodged in his skull, and requires constant care from his strong mother, who also has two other children. They are currently staying at the Best Miami Hotel, but need to move into a “Section 8″ living arrangement as soon as possible.
